Not an idea as such but point I’d like to make
Please consider community learning and the special circumstances in which it operates. Too often exercises such as this are dominated by colleges. This tends to lead to guidance that doesn’t fit easily with the way CL works
CL reaches learners that colleges often do not reach. This involves working in community venues that are often less than excellent and frequently with poor IT infrastructure. Tutors are scattered across the community and usually part time or sessional which makes CPD challenging.
CL can and should be making interesting use of ICT to promote learning but it probably needs a different approach to FE colleges
Across the FE sector colleges are struggling to fund the internal IT infrastructure upgrades that are required to make effective use of modern ed tech. Colleges need sound, reliable networks that educators and learners trust and can rely on. I believe the recommendations need to address this and investigate funding mechanisms that will allow all colleges to upgrade their IT infrastructure providing a solid foundation for the further uptake of ed tech approaches to learning.
Dawn is quite right , it all falls down if the infastructure isn’t there.
